S02 - Drums & Trumpets

S02 was a station that rarely broadcasted, even at its highest traffic peak between January 1989 and March 1990. The numbers were read in Bulgarian, which sparks the possibility of the station being operated by Bulgarian intelligence (this wouldn't be Bulgaria's only attempt at a number station, see S01 and S04). The callsign featured a short recording of drums and trumpets being played, with some rare cases of a military funeral bugle being played right before the callsign.

S02 broadcasted its messages on the 9th of every month at 1930 UTC. It ceased operation in 1996.
